Homemade Vegan Cheddar Cheese Sauce

  • 1/2 C Vegan Margarine or butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 cups Unsweetened plain soymilk*
  • (USE ONLY soymilk with just soybeans and water on the label)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 C Nutritional Yeast
  • 1 T white or Red Miso (optional but adds great flavor) or add 1 T broth powder
  • 1 t onion powder
  • 1 t garlic powder
  • Cheese Sauce Directions
  • Melt margarine
  • Stir in flour.
  • Add soymilk
  • Heat until starts to thicken.
  • Add remaining ingredients
  • Heat Until thickened

  • Use wherever cheese is called for... macaroni and cheese, nachos, over cooked vegis....
  • Try the miso!
  • or try using cashew cream, in place of the soy milk. (soak cashews overnight in water, then blender smooth)
