baking soda
- 3 c
flour
- 2 t almond
extract

- Form small balls
on greased sheet 2 " apart
- Press almond
into each
- Bake 325 35-45

Almond Cookies 2
- 1 cup
shortening
l/4 tsp. salt
3 cups flour
l tsp. baking soda
1/4 C soymilk
- l cup sugar
2 tsp. almond extract
red food coloring
- Cut shortening
into dry ingredients; add soy milk and
flavoring; mix well. Knead til soft.
Form into balls the size of a walnut.
Flatten slightly with hand and place on
cookie sheet. Make a dent in the center
of each cookie with the blunt end of a
chop stick. Color dent with the red
food coloring. If desired press
blanched almond on cookie instead of
dent & coloring. Bake at 350 for l0
to l5 minutes....makes 6 dozen
