Homemade Dessert Fillings
Poppy seed filling
- Blender together:
- ¾ C poppy seeds
- ¾ C ground almonds
- Add:
- ½ C sugar
- 1/3 C plain soymilk
- Place in saucepan with:
- 3 T vegan margarine
- 1 t lemon peel
- 1 T lemon juice
- Boil until thick, 10 minutes.
Date Filling:
- Simmmer:
- ½ # dates
- in 1 C water
- When all water evaporated add:
- ½ C vegan margarine
- 2 T lemon juice
- 1 t cinnamon
- 1 t vanilla
- Cook a couple minutes until thick.
- Process smooth
Rum Apricot filling
- Cook until softened:
- ½ # dried apricots
- 2 C water
- ½ C water
- ½ C sugar
- Remove add
- 1/2 C C ground almonds
- 2 T rum
- Process smooth
Homemade Almond Paste
- 1 ½ C whole blanched almonds
- 1 ½ C powdered sugar
- 1 t almond extract
- 1/4 t salt
- 2 t oil
- processs smooth
