Basic frosting

  • 1/3 c margarine, softened
  • 3 c powdered sugar
  • 3 T soymilk or more for desired consistancy.
  • For Chocolate frosting add:
  • 2 sq melted unsweetened chocolate
  • or 6 T cocoa.

Can add a teaspoon of vanilla or other flavor extract



Basic icing

  • 2 T margarine
  • 2 c powdered sugar
  • ½ t vanilla or almond
  • soymilk to thin (2-3 T)

For chocolate icing add:

  • 3 T cocoa or 1 sq melted

For Orange citris icing Add:

  • orange peel from 1 orange
  • Replace soymilk with ½ orange juice
  • and ½ lemon juice

Simple Lemon Icing

  • Just Mix
  • a little Lemon juice
  • into powder sugar

Tips and ideas:

Frosting usually is a lot thicker than Icing


Icings work great on Desserts or over sweet breads
