Apple Rings
- Wash and core 4+ firm apples
- Slice 1/4 rounds
- Place rings in water with a little lemon juice added
- Dissolve 4 c sugar in
- 1 qt water
- Boil 5 minutes
- Turn off heat.
- Add apples
- let sit 10 minutes
- Return to heat
- bring to a boil
- Simmer 30 minutes
- Remove/ chill
Cinnamon candy Apple rings
- Heat:
- 1 C water
- 1/3 C cinnamon red hots
- When melted add:
- 3 cored/sliced apples.
- Simmer 20 minutes, or til tender
fried Apple rings
- 2 apples core and cut into rings
- >melt:
- 2 T margarine
- 2 T sugar
- 1 T lemon juice (opt)
- >cook low til brown both sides 10-15
- For red apple rings add red food coloring
- or for red cinnamon apple rings add 1/2 cup red hot cinnamon candies to the margarine and melt. Omit sugar
Tips and ideas:
- Add a teaspoon of cinnamon or other spices if desired
