Vegan Corn dogs, Pronto Pups

1/4 c cornmeal
1/2 c flour
1/2 T bp
1/2 t salt
1/2 T sugar
1/2 c plain unsweetened soymilk (with only soybeans and water on the label)
2 T oil
1/2 t paprika
dash pepper

Insert wooden skewer (or old chopsticks)
into vegan hotdog (I prefer Loma Lindas Big Franks)
Dip into mixture and deep fry until deep gold color.
Serve with mustard and catsup

Corn dogs 2, Pronto pups, state fair hot dog on a stick


A package or can of Your Favorite vegan wieners

Insert wooden sticks ½ way into wiener (Reused chop sticks from take out work great)

Corn oil, or other oil for deep frying


1 C cornmeal

1 C flour

¼ t baking soda

1 t baking powder

½ t cayenne pepper

2 t salt


Blender the following then Fold dry ingredients.

1 Can cream corn (check the label. it should all be vegan)

1 ¼ c soymilk

1 T vinegar

1/3 c onion

1 T jalapeño (optional)


Let sit 10 minutes


Place in tall glass for easier coating wieners


Try dipping a wiener into the batter, if it sticks, then deep fry 375 degrees until golden brown.

Continue with the rest of the wieners.


If the batter doesn't stick very well, roll the wiener in a little cornstarch first.


This batter is great on extra firm tofu too!

And onion rings


Add dash more sugar



Bisquick corndogs


1 C bisquick

2 T cornmeal


2 T oil

½ C plain soymilk

Also works great for tofu, onion rings, and other vegetables!
