Homemade Split Pea Soup

Cholesterol Free Vegan Recipe

Delicious Split Pea Soup
 
1 # split peas Rinsed.
2 t salt
water
1 onion
1 t coriander
1 t cumin
½ t turmeric
1 T lemon juice
1 ½ T sugar
1 C leftover cooked rice
salt
pepper
1 c dry mashed potatoes (more or less for desired thickness)
¼ C Bacos (optional)
1 t liquid smoke
 
Saute' onion in a little oil.
Add Split Peas
And 3 1/2 C water
Boil simmer 45 minutes
Add remaining ingredients through the pepper and 3 1/2 C more water
Boil/simmer 40 minutes
Add potatoes, bacos and liquid smoke…. simmer until thickened

Tips
Best Split Pea soup I have had!

Add some grated carrot.
