Grandmas Homemade Slow Sage Stuffing
- Saute 5 minutes:
- ¾ c vegan margarine
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 ½ c chopped celery
- ¼ c fresh parsley
- Add:
- 2 cloves garlic
- cook 1 minute
- Add:
- 1 T sage
- 2 t salt
- ½ t pepper
- 1 t thyme
- ½ t marjoram
- 1 t celery seed
- 1/4 C vegetable broth powder
- 2 c water
- Bring to a boil
- Fold in:
- 8 c dry bread cubes
- Bake several hours, if possible, covered in a casserole, 325.
Tips:
You can add extras like mushrooms, nuts, apples, raisins, bacos, vegi sausage, chestnuts, wild rice, cornbread etc.. but keep it simple, if you have a lot of new or picky eaters.
You can cheat and cook it on the stove top in about half hour, but the longer it cooks the better the flavor...
